This is not our first visit to Quebec City so we were somewhat familiar with the old town.

Our campground, Camp Beauport, had free shuttle buses into the old city, so we hopped on it the Monday evening when we arrived which turned out to be a bumpy 40 minute circuit. The bus was named Benjo after a store downtown, where we were dropped off. Itīs unfortunate we didnīt get a picture of the bus - it was quite a comical looking bus. It started raining when we got there and we walked through the rain-soaked streets as it got dark.

The highlight of our Quebec City trip, other than of course the picturesque cobbled streets, artists and many cafes was the bike ride from our camp site to the old town.

We had chosen that particular camp site because it was along the bike path. We were a little skeptical though because that usually means biking on busy roads and/or highways on a tiny shoulder. So, it was a very pleasant surprise to find this was a dedicated bike path along open fields of wild flowers, wooded marshland, along the train tracks and finally on the boardwalk by the Saint Lawrence River into old Quebec City.

It was about 12km each way. Biking back to the camp site was a bit of an uphill climb and wet but it felt good to be cycling.

On our way back, we stopped by the market at Vieux Port and picked up some fresh produce - berries, vegetables, and shrimp for dinner.

Books we are reading now:
Rajiv - Late Nights on Air by Elizabeth Hay
Bobbie - The Art of pilgrimage by Phil Cousineau

Late Nights on Air
Just finished this great book - a perfect read for getting the juices flowing about all the wonder travel can bring, not just sights, smells, tastes; but those subtle shifts within your soul. Enjoy!
