It's a great place, don't think I'm knocking it. The locals are nice, friendly people who speak passable English, you can have all the magic mushrooms you can eat, and it's full of Swedes studying philosophy in university. When all's said and done, the Gilis are collectively one big Party Island.
But being there is the opposite of traveling, it's a holiday destination where you can laze around on the beach and play Frisbee in the surf during the day, and watch movies and do shrooms at night.
My last word on it?
Gili T is basically Ibiza in Indonesia.
