The warm Florida wind swept over us as the oak trees swayed and copious sweat poured from our bodies.  Seriously copious amounts.

YOGA!!!

Yes I did a yoga gathering with about 300 people at downtown Orlando's Lake Eola.  It was led by Orlando Power Yoga's Kelly Senn.  (www.orlandopoweryoga.com) .  What a great setting, Spreading a towel on the soft grass and stretching, breathing, and working ones entire body for an hour.... together.

Thousands of others across the country were doing the same thing, at the same time, in different locations.  It was a Yogathon.

Kelly was on speaker and was a fun and encouraging teacher.  Even a novice like myself felt comfortable amongst all the more experienced, Orlando Power Yoga t-shirt wearing, regulars.

Not sure about how each move was done, I would follow the athletic, toned girl next to me and pretty much got the hang of it. I can see that this is something I must put into my fitness repertoire.

As I write this my body and mind are at ease, the words flowing from my fingers.

I think me and my 16-year daughter, Kaley will have to look into a membership.

As far as my feelings towards Orlando. I will now give it a second chance.  I have believed it to be a generic city with no soul, but have I really looked within it to find the people and places that fit my lifestyle?  I think, like most things, we take the what's closest to us for granted.  Sometimes we must reacquaint ourselves with that entity, be it a city, loved one, or home.

So recently I have started exploring this city that I have such contempt for.  Running the four flights of outdoor stairs, 67 total, at ORMC downtown, kayaking in my lake, working out at my gym, 24 Hour Fitness, running around Lake Davis and Lake Cherokee, finding great little mom and pop eateries like Chili Daddy (www.chilidaddy.com), checking out some blues clubs, getting out there again as if I haven't lived here for 20 years.

Traveling the east coast was like going to a marriage councelor.  I saw so many cool places and great people.  Could it be that Orlando can have cool places and people too?  Let's see if I can find the good side to this place.  I am open to ideas.

I believe I will be at The Alley in Downtown Sanford, FL, tonight and watch one of my buddy's in his band, The Blues Busters, tonight.

Let's see what this town has to offer.  Tomorrow is a beach day for sure at Indialantic.  Anyone want to go?
