I love this town. Wandering from shop to shop and cruising along the picturesque roads, everywhere I turn is a post card.
I sent Captain Joe an e-mail at Goodmorninggloucester.com letting him know that I would be glad to do an interview with him. He got right back to me and said he was interested. As I drove around I saw a sign that said below retail lobsters for sale. I stopped in and saw a real lobster drop off point where the lobster men unload their catch. As I was taking my video a guy said "Hey, I know you, you're the guy living the dream."
It was Captain Joe. Amazing coincidence. We talked and got along great. What a nice guy with such a professional and interesting web sight. He told me he would put my blog on his site and try to do an interview. How cool.
I was going to eat some lobster somewhere today and went to a the Seaport Grille across from the Crow's Nest. I met Bobby, a blues drummer, and his sweet and beautiful wife Rebbecca. They were great. They had a huge plate of steamers slid in front of them and my eyes got big looking at them. Bobby offered me some and I accepted. They were delicious. In return I bought them a couple drinks. A friendship was born.
When my twin lobster dinner arrived, Bobby saw I really didn't know how to crack them open so he did it for me. A true pro and great instructional lobster cracking video.
After dinner Bobby and Rebbecca offered to show me around. I accepted and we walked out to their car, a 1966, black, mint GTO. What a ride. They took me all over and we had drinks, I had many drinks. These were some of the nicest people I have met in a long time. Rebbecca was an absolute doll. I hope we stay friends. They gave me quite an education about the real Gloucester.
This morning I had quite a hangover. This is why I have the two drink guidline. Captain Joe called me and wanted to do a video. I met him at the Pleasant Street Cafe and we did an interview about my journey that will be on goodmorninggloucester.com.
I was going to stay another day but the Crow's Nest was booked and I had to go. Gotn to cut today's story a little short. It can't get much better than Gloucester so I think I will head to the mountains of New Hampshire and Vermont.......... Maybe.
