We have a car and decided why not cruise through Liechtenstein on our way north west. The morning we left Innsbruck it looked terrible outside, so were happy to get away. In a few hours on the road the sun shone through the clouds and the day brightened. We went through plenty of tunnel and one that cost 8.50 Euro! It was a several kilometer long tunnel though. Border crossing was a breeze, the road said stop and we did but there was no one there to stamp our passports or check anything so we continued on like everyone else.

There's not much to Liechtenstein it's really small. We saw several little towns and the two big castles, the royal one is off limits, and the other one we didn't go in either. We took a high winding road above town and saw the shiny Rhine River below us in the misty afternoon. The hostel we headed to in Hard (near Bregenz) turned out to be closed for 12 days, we had to find new lodgin after dark. Lucky us that people in this area are wicked helpful, a random guy shoveling dirt helped us by calling a woman on the Hard list of zimmer frei people, it was a nice place and she was very nice to us. There are some people (typically older) that love to cater to people with cookies and tea and whatnot, so we made instant soups for dinner and she gave us bread and cookies and tea with lemon, it was all very nice. The room was typical, 25 Euro and very comfy. We headed out in the morning for ... sights around Lake Constance on our way toward Freiburg.
