Horrible night. Didn't sleep much as it was hot and humid. In the night we had intruders too. Gemma discovered that her daysack had been lifted from the truck and Teresa thinks she disturbed someone coming into her tent. Couldn't get away from there fast enough.

I lay down and dozed a bit at the front of the truck. When I sat up again we were travelling through a succession of turkish seaside resorts with campsites of the beach and crowds in the water. The biggest of these was called Akkum, closely followed by Kiskalesi. The latter looked interesting with castles on both land and sea. Had lunch in a horrible spot next to the main road.

Nearly everyone had a snooze in the afternoon to catch up on sleep missed last night. When I awoke we were on a major road. On cresting a hill we were presented with a large plain. Pretty impressive. Turned inland and from then on the scenery was wilder and flatter - plains with hills in the background. It had a whole different feel to the country we had been driving through the past few days. Drove for some time through this. It was beautiful as the light faded bathing everywhere in pastel colours.

Had trouble finding somewhere to camp. Eventually we drove up a rough track at about 8.00 and found this patch of land to camp on. It feels safer and cooler than last night and there's a beautiful golden moon.
