Spent the morning travelling from Stavanger to Bergen. Did a lot of Island-hopping and so had two ferry crossings. One was only 20 mins and the other was 40 mins. Gee they move quick. The cars and buses get on and off in record time and then the ferry is off again. No mucking about! Would be really easy to not get off in time and end up going back where you came from (as very nearly happened to me!).

Arrived in Bergen and had an orientation tour in the bus of the city. Pretty cool city. Very cute. And was a beautiful day and very warm. It is just what you imagined a Scandinavian city to be like with its unique and very cute architecture and the port etc. Our Hotel is very central and very quirky. I have a hot chilly pepper on the wall of my room and lots of beads. LOL.

Went on an afternoon excursion up to the home of Norway's most famous composer Edvard Greig. His home on the 'Hill of Trolls' was set in very pretty Grounds with bush surrounds. Very much like New Zealand bush. It was where he did most of his composing. It was nice and the guide was lovely.

Then went back down to Bergen and up on the Funicular to Mt Floyen to see the views. Had yummy soft serve ice cream with strawberry crunchy bits on it-is so worth the trip up to have just that!!

Had dinner back in the town with three people from the tour at Egons restaurant. Fantastic pizza!!!! (Yes I know not very Norwegian but so far haven't really come across real Norwegian-and anyway Egon's appears to be a Norwegian chain......).
