After in total 22,5 hours on a plane and 2 days later (thanks to crossing the date lane in this direction) we arrived finally in Nadi/ Fiji.
We arrived at 6 am in our hotel, checked in, were led to our room, had a shower and went to bed... 18 hours later I woke up again... but only to check the time and went to sleep again. I think we were the easiest guests the hotel had ever seen. When we had breakfast the staff was wondering where we had been all the time... Almost 24 hours sleep. The illness in Cuzco, the altitude, the trek, the flights... It all added up to pure exhaustion. Now we were good to go again.
Did I mention that I had left Dubai with 2 pairs of sun glasses: one I had left at Jens' parents place, one at my parents place... Fantastic. I had taken this for a while but now it was enough. We had a plan: Nadi downtown, getting supplies (the usual shower gel, toothbrushes etc) and sun glasses plus internet research where we would stay the next days and from which to which islands we would hop.
The first points on the list were easily ticked off but the hotel/ trip booking wasn't as easy as thought: the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand attracted lot's of people from abroad but many of them combined the trip with a trip to Fiji. Almost everything was booked. What was left was 5star hotels or Dormitories. But we found a quiet resort at the the beach....
