With the weekend free I decided to head down to Zurich.  It's the largest city in Switzerland, and it's only a couple of hours away from Freiburg with the DeutscheBahn.  Upon my arrival at the Zurich Hauptbahnhof, I immediately came across a large Oktoberfest celebration.  A huge tent was set up inside of the train station itself, containing possibly thousands of people in Lederhosen and Dirndls.  I decided to check it out for a bit and was pretty impressed by the atmosphere.  The singing, dancing, and free-flowing beer looked a lot like what I had expected from a genuine Oktoberfest celebration.

I spent the next few hours exploring the city before reaching a club to see Mike Candys and a number of other Zurich based DJs play that night.  After meeting a few friendly Zurich natives and talking for a while, one of them turned out to work at this particular club.  They were really surprised to hear that anyone in America knew of these musical acts from their home country.  After a full night of Swiss electro-house, I had made it back to Freiburg at 9:00 the next morning.
