Where I stayed
Friday was rainy as well, which meant another day without work. I decided I don't particularly want to do that work and just stayed home Saturday as well and instead played another game of golf. I did worse than my last game (but a bit better than my first) and shot a 50 on the nine-hole course. The second game today I started out doing worse on, and since we started later in the day it got dark and cold and I quit on the sixth or seventh hole because I was steadily getting worse since my hands were cold.
That night the hostel manager took a van-load of guests to a rural town of 500 people to a country pub's monthly live music night. We had a pool tournament to the musical stylings of a couple of professional karaoke singers: the "live music" was a man and woman singing to background tracks. They were actually fairly decent, but it was a bit disappointing. Also, I now have the fastest time on the San Francisco track of Cruisin' USA, and I was named the best Big Buck Hunter out of the group. Afterward we had a mad midnight ride on curvy mountain roads back to Blenheim, with most of the van "singing" (I use this word in its loosest sense) their lungs out.
Monday I am going to be heading back to Picton to go on a several-day trek with two Germans I've gotten to know here. After that, who knows. More on that after the trek.
