Today was my first time in the ocean.
Now, I've in the Gulf of Mexico at several points up and down the coast from Texas to Florida, and I've swum in the Mediterranean Sea, but neither of them count. They're no the ocean. Today, I went to Nai Harn beach and took a dip in the Indian Ocean, and boy, was it nice. It was your stereotypical day in paradise: I spent the day going back and forth from swimming in the ocean to reading in a lounge chair on the beach under an umbrella. I did get sunburned quite a bit, but it was worth it.
I was going to finish off the day with some fresh crab from a little beachfront seafood restaurant, but the bus back to town came right then, and I didn't want to wait for the next. There will be other opportunities, though.

Just wanted to let you know I am reading and enjoying! Also, to assuage the burning curiosity...the name of the place you're staying is pronounced 'foo-KET,' correct?
@ Steven
Actually, no. It's pronounced 'poo-get', with the k sounding like a mix between a g and k sound, if you get that. I had read it was pronounced like 'poo-get', but then everyone, even Thais, said it with more of a K, so I don't know. I just know the ph is a p sound.
Re: @ Steven
Ah, okay. It would of course be more complicated than it looks, but I think I understand. Still better than the alternative I was imagining.
