During the course of the day, we put together a plan for a road trip to the beach at Batangas City along the southern coast of Luzon. Visiting some markets, we bought some fish and pork along with fruits, veggies, and other foods. Meanwhile, our friends in Taguig started preparing large quantities of food -- spaghetti, rice, and pancit. That evening, we rented a van and taxi, and a bunch of us headed south. About 3 hours later (and close to 1 am) we arrived at the resort, checked into a couple of rooms, and broke out the food and drink.
Our last night together wasn't particularly romantic, as we shared our room with a half-dozen others who slept on the floor or above us on the bunk bed. But for the price of the remaining hotel stay, we were treating a large group to a evening and day at the beach...how cool is that?
