Orlando, Florida - Day 3, Night 4

It's off to Universal Studio's this morning. No comp'd coffee this start of the day. Got some directions from the front desk staff and off we went, nice and early. It was pretty straight forward with the signage and daylight on our side. Took advantage of the preferred parking so it would be easy when leaving at days end.

Well we were so excited and took advantage of a discount to check out both parks cause we were early enough that we'd have the time. We were thinking of purchasing the Express pass tickets but the gal at the ticket gate indicated we wouldn't need them. Both offered lots of rides and fun all around. So we started off with Universal and headed right for the new Simpsons ride! What a blast that was. It was a simulated rollercoaster. Simulated, my arse, it sure felt realistic. Even when we got off we could feel our equilibrium was slightly off.

We basically made our way around the park, with the next stop being the Men In Black ride, then Jaws, The Mummy...on and on and on. One of the best rides we enjoyed at Universal was the Terminator 3-D. Can't get enough of it. Lots and lots of 3-D shows all between 4-8 minutes in length. Never had to wait longer than 10 minutes and in the morning we walked right on - it was excellent. When we came out of the men in black ride, it was pouring - we thought "great, this is going to suck", but it had stopped within 5 minutes. So we continued on. Cloud were looking pretty ominous, but managed to avoid the rain!

After Universal, we walked next door to Islands of Adventure and this place was just as much fun! Our favourite ride was the Hulk's roller coaster - holy shit...coming off that you're a little bit off (like The Simpsons). Had a lot of good screams and laughter riding that one. Again, no lines which couldn't have been any better.

Note to All: travel to DisneyWorld in November (not Thanksgiving) cause there are practically No Lines!! We were able to zip through both of these parks and take in all the rides/themes we were interested in checking out. We even got soaked on a log ride with a great big drop at the end. Man the build up for that drop was something.

So we decided to revisit the Hulk rollercoaster ride again (twice) towards the end of our day cause it was such a rush the first time around. We walked right up and on, then got off and back on again. This time we went for the front of the rollercoaster so we could see all these twists and turns and dips first hand. We almost went back to the Spiderman ride cause it was also good, but decided we should start to head back. When we got off the last Hulk ride it was just starting to rain and by the time we got out and over to the locker, it was pouring!!! I couldn't imagine how the rain felt on the ride cause when it was only drizzling, it felt like mini M&M's hitting you in the face. The downpour must have felt like golf balls hitting you.

We were soaked by the time we reached the car - but the rain was warm and kind of refreshing. We were very tired from walking and walking. We couldn't even guess the amount of km's walked. Made it back safe and sound.

We changed into dry clothing then off to La Nouba (Cirque de Soleil) facility to pickup our tickets. Had time for a bite to eat so went to House of Blues for dinner. Tried the Seafood Jambalaya and num num num. Sherry had the salmon and it was also cooked just right!! We shared a small bottle of red wine and had quite the glow on by the time we hit the show. Talk about a cheap buzz!!! This show was just amazing and I would recommend it to anybody traveling to Orlando. It's just a great show. It's a 1hr 40 min show, but it seemed like it was over in no time. It was just awe inspiring. The acrobatics, music and costumes were unbelievable. It was worth every penny!

We walked around downtown Disney afterwards, but most places were closed for the evening, with the exception of some bars and the odd store. We just decided to grab a cab and head back to the room for a nightcap. Had a great sleep, having walked a great distance this day and were going for about 14 hours. What a day!!!
