I don't know how many of you might remember the Mackenzie Highway when there wasn't a stich of pavement from the AB/NT border, but holy shit the highway from Grande Prairie to Hinton was Brutal. The trucks generated so much flying snow it was almost a whiteout. Alberta highways staff.....you suck the big kahuna on that one. White out, slow moving, truck hauling drivers who I'm pretty sure Just got their licence. If you can't handle it, Don't Drive It!!!

Had to pass tons of them and the visibility wasn't great! But it was dark so Very easy to see if there was any oncoming traffic. That and the guy in front of me part way thru had the same idea - Yes!! 17 trucks later the road was still crappy. They hadn't taken the graders to it yet so the evening's snowfall was built up along the sides. Enough traffic so there was at least some clear roads in the center.

Uneventful and decided to go through the town of Jasper while in the area. The drive was just magestic. On this highway, the truckers knew what they were doing. One even signalled so I knew that it was either cops or wildlife. Was the latter. A couple of big horn sheep licking the salt off of the highway. Stopped but they didn't move so drove around them. Signalled everyone oncoming for the next couple clicks.

What a beautiful drive the Rockies are...stunning to say the least. Pulled over for a nap a couple hours away from Kamloops cause the drive had wiped me out, mostly the first 4 hours. Zonked right out and awoke 30 minutes later feeling very revived.

Got to the hotel and then zoomed downtown to check it out. Was a little bit of light left, so parked the car and walked around. Had a bite, then back to the hotel for a hot tub - oh yeah!!!!!

Bit of blogging, research for ferry schedule and maybe take in a movie. Sweet dreams all
