Where I stayed
Shekhawati is absolutely beautiful: Winding narrow laneways along which men lead their camels, beautiful fresco-painted Havelis on each side, and best of all, not a tourist in sight!
After my tour of the area we went back to our hotel and I made a facebook page for the hotel workers. We then spent a bit of time teasing Raj about the sentences he had rote learned in English but did not understand the meaning of e.g. This is not my pot of tea.
I then had dinner with the guys, who were all convinced that the Danish girls sitting behind us were flirting with them. I thought it might be offensive to tell them that bad teeth, aviators and slicked back hair was not most Western girls' 'pot of tea'. So I just told them they weren't flirting with them and that they shouldn't cheat on their wives.
By the end of the trip the hotel owners liked me so much that they asked if I could stay for another night without charge. I didn't take up the offer, but told them that we would tay in touch.
