Where I stayed
Bowling green bay national park!!
Another huge day driving, and some great discussion as to whether to keep going or just pull up for the night. The initial excitement of getting to Queensland was ebbing away as we passed very bland scenery, bumping over narrow bumpy roads, so we just kept going to get it over and done with.
Arriving at Townsville late afternoon with sore bottoms and very hungry it was Macdonalds all round, and then we headed off to a National park on the outskirts of town called Bowling Green Bay, not resembling much like a bowling green, but very nice set in a forrest, with wobbilies ( wallabes) and wild turkeys running around, there was even turtles in the creek!
Next morning we were off into town and found a great caravan park, right on the water front, we booked in for three days. Townsville it lovely, probably one of the nicest places we have been so far, very tropical, surrounded by mountains, looking over Magnetic Island, and a fab foreshore area, with free water park, and loads for the kids to do. No need to tell you the kids want to stay!
We had fish and chips that night in celebration! Leah want's to know if you get Easter eggs in the East coast!

well done on reaching the east coast without any major mishaps. Looking forward to the next lot of tales and pics. George loves being 40, as he now has his new love of his life, his surfboard. Get practicing the surf moves James, George will be out there as soon as you settle, for the waves. Love Debs,Geo,Fin & Jen xxxx
