Okay, first things first...
Sorry Kylie (for the boys) and Sharon and Nick... We got you a really nice present each in Rome and the housekeeping lady threw them out (they were protected in cardboard on the tv and she didn't look closely and thought it was rubbish) - luckily you have something else...
They say bad things come in threes....
Then yesterday morning was the time to go from Athens to the ferry at Piraeus... Greece is one hour ahead of Italy... I changed my watch but not the mobile phone which we've been using as an alarm... Guess who got woken at 6.20am by reception telling us our lift was downstairs.... My bad.
And then the hotel was meant to have our ferry tickets, so I phoned the travel agency who said that was wrong, that our driver would have them in the morning. What didn't he have when he picked us up? Yep. Good driver though (a taxi even), he ran around in at the ferry port and obtained us replacement tickets so we were able to catch our boat.
So now we our relaxing in Mykonos, wandering around, chilling by the pool (about 35 deg - the weather, not the water termperature!)
Tomorrow we do a half day excursion to the island of Delos, about 45 min away by boat. Some old ruins there, which should be cool.
Oh - and Athens was way cool. Loved Acropolis and the Temple of Zeus!!!
J & L
ps - my knee is mending nicely, thankyou!

WALK ABOUT hassles?
J+L,
Congratulations on getting as far as you have - it would appear that stamina is being tested somewhat at present? At least the wheels have'nt fallen off the itinerary as yet, unlike George on The Mongolian Rally. He retired in Russia with collapsed suspension.
Dad
PS HOW IS THE KNEE?
Hellooooooo!!!
Good to read your update on the itinerary but sorry to hear of the (minor) hassles. Shame about the gifts being tossed out ... a cleaning lady who doesn't just empty the bins??? But a taxi driver with a heart is good ...
Not much changes here - we are taking Nan (& Gramps) out for breakfast on Sunday at the Balmoral (her 77th birthday) we'll have a toast (in coffee) for you.
Looking forward to seeing you home safe and sound and looking at all the photo's.
Love you, Mum xx
Are you there yet?
Blimey - the stamina is something to behold. I am tired just reading the exploits! Oh, and it is safe to come home - replacement presents are still presents ;) Can't wait to get all the stories first hand! xxx
