we got up, had some breakfast, then made a late appointment to get on the 'Eagle's Nest' tour, up high in the mountains (just over the border in Germany). This was Hitler's second major command post, and his summer retreat.
after that, we visited the fortress that overlooks the town (cable car ride up and back) and wandered around the town, taking in the sights, smells, beer and apple strudel.
just to kill time (we haven't had a hotel room since checkout this morning) we went and saw the latest Harry Potter flick.
we are now killing time, as we have an overnight train from Salzburg to Venice, leaving at 1.45am, about 3 hours from now.... at least we have a sleeper compartment.
