I am still in the Detroit area wrapping up my summer semester and life in general. Some unidentified creature keeps eating the tomatoes and bell peppers out of our garden before they have time to mature. I think it might be the woodchuck that has been tormenting my dog for weeks now.

Anyway, I have about 30 days before I leave for Jordan and my plans seem to be coming along. I currently have my visa, my plane tickets, and my travel insurance in order. I also picked up my very first big girl set of luggage yesterday! I got a great deal at Macy's, something like 50% off followed by 20% followed by another 20%. Hello?! Needless to say I now have some high quality luggage and it's royal purple. Gotta love it. Today I am on my way to REI to choose between a few hiking packs I ordered --choices are quite limited when you have a minature torso-- then off to the Macomb County Health Department to get a DTP shot. Awesome. So my wish list, if that's what you can call it, now includes a Typhoid shot, a netbook, a new battery for my laptop, a power adaptor/converter, some running shoes, and a confirmed housing situation.

I would also like to win the lottery before now and August 24, just throwing that out there.

Sidenote: Speaking of travel, tonight No Reservations is going to feature Cadieux Cafe, the infamous eastside bar where the mussels are steaming, the Belgians are boozing, and the featherbowling never stops. Cadieux is a must visit if you are ever in the Detroit area. I'll be there tonight to watch the No Reservations premiere.
