Bohol is an easy hop from Cebu. There's a lot of tourist destinations around the island and of course, the famous Panglao island with its white sand beach.

Its capital is Tagbilaran City, and one can take a fast craft, airplane, or a ferry boat (if you are bringing transportation to and fro) to get here. From Cebu City, a 2-hour fast craft ride is the most convenient option. Just go to Pier 4 and buy tickets (back and forth) either via Supercat or Weesam Lines. No need to book ahead unless its peak season. For your tour around Bohol, there are options for transporation rentals or, you can also bring your own vehicle and drive around with an EZ Map --- its fun! What we adore the most about traveling around Bohol is the well paved roads, even most of the secondary roads are better than Cebu's. If you're bringing your own vehicle to Bohol, there are ferry boats from Mactan, Argao and Cebu Pier to either Tagbilaran, Tubigon, GetaFe or Loon wharfs in Bohol. Check out this link for your choices: http://lite-shipping.com/rates.php or http://www.cebuboattrips.com/slow_ferries.htm.

When you're in the city, you can hop from one spot to another, and from our last visit this year, we noticed more and more areas opening their own mini-zoos, nature parks, and other attractions even in the remote places, far from the city. However, travel agencies have set itineraries for their guests and only go to the conventional list of attractions. If you have your own car, and you're up for a road trip, just bring an EZ map or any Bohol map with you and navigate your way around town. Its best to study the map before starting the engines so you can outline your driving directions and have a smooth self guided tour. If your lost, just stop by a local along the road and ask the right questions. Dont forget to say "thank you" or "salamat".

If you're done with the countryside tours, its time to retreat at your choice of beach resort around Panglao island. There is a wide array of accomodation choices to suit ones budget for your stay on the island. All resorts offer different activities such as island hopping, snorkelling, diving and various watersports. And, you can spend "chillax" hours just swimming, walking on the sand, sunbathing, sipping a cold fruit juice and splurge on a platter of seafood. Island Hopping is also popular when you're in Bohol. Commons spots are the Balicasag Island, Pamilacan Island and Cabilao Island. With the right timing you can even spot dolphins and whales.

Another best in Bohol is the one-stop adventure park at EAT Danao Bohol. The town is somewhere Northeast part of the island, but if you're the extremist type or just want to have some once in a lifetime adventure, its a worthwhile 4-hour drive. It's encouraged to book for an overnight stay in the park or somewhere close, so you can enjoy all activities in store. But if you're short of time, you can just go for the most recommended ones: zipline, plunge, spelunking, and their newest attractions: paramotor and ultralight.
