What do you reckon I got up to in Mendoza then? Yes thats right, having not had any red wine for about six months I decided it was time to take it on pretty well. I intended to visit some vinyards, hike in the surrounding mountains, do a bit of cycling etc etc. The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Or in my case, the road to Hangover.

I carried on two fine traditions in my week in Buenos Aires. I visited Hangover several times more, and I met up with my friends Mark and Edgar. By pure coincidence all three of us were leaving Buenos Aires and indeed Argentina and indeed South America on the same day. After wed got over the spookiness, we got drunk. And again. And again. Ad nauseum. Although ironically I wasnt actually sick at any point. By about day four (dont ask me for specifics - its too much!) I realised with a jolt that I didnt know when Id ever be coming back to Buenos Aires, so we crammed in some touristy stuff. Particular highlights were the Tango show (absolutely amazing, and really quite sexy.... and really totally impossible) and watching Boca Juniors play at home (I say highlight - the only thing highlighted was how shit Juan Roman Riquelme has got since the middle of last season: Boca lost 3-0, which is unheard of apparently). Obviously we prioritized drinking fairly heavily too tho. By an odd coincidence I kept hearing that Doors tune with the line 'Woke up in the morning and I got myself a beer'. Except that we tended to be waking up in the evening (when I slept at all - curse you dormitories!) and seeing the morning only as an irritating attempt to prevent us from getting to sleep. Buenos Aires was a lot of fun.

And now Im back in Bristol. Not quite as fun: while it certainly has its upsides, working in some shabby (and as yet unobtained) job is not one of them. And nor is the fact that when we touched down in the UK the pilot cheerfully announced that it was a 'pleasant' 12 degrees outside. Funny guy.
