Hi
Sorry Gary I left you high and dry this morning by not telling you where we were. Is the streetview live?
Today was relatively uneventful - a lot of parallel to the highway walking and the scenery could have come out of Tasmania. It was hot again and the cows were all in their houses, not dirtying the lush grass...
We saw recently planted eucalypt groves.
I havenīt mentioned before the absolute filth of the walking pilgrim - rubbish strewn all along the paths: empty water bottles, food wrappers, tissues, clothes, and things you wouldnīt dare to think about!.
Although we arrived in this totally forgettable town early, the albergue we had selected was already full and so weīre in the Municipal one. Our room has about 12 people in it and a window which opens. It has one lonely English speaking man and noisy new Spaniards with a super snorer! Two new English friends arrived in town too late for a bed and have had to walk on to the next town.
Lots of unidentifiable songbirds.
And yes, we are reflecting on our journey, over and above the feet issues.
We do intend to walk to īthe end of the earthīand bus back to santiago to meet up with pilgrims we have enjoyed along the way.
The plan is for a shopping day and a sightseeing day in Madrid only.
Itīs a very different pilgrimage now and takes some adjusting to. So many taxis flying past carrying mochillas - backpacks, but not ours.
Love to all

No, Google Streetview isn't live! Since I didn't know quite where you were I wasn't able to "join" you last night. Never mind biscuits and quiche making helped pass the time.
Fascinating how perceptions change. you will remember reading other blogs and how there was increasing "resentment" as the journey unfolded to all those "cheaters", and I guess as you draw towards the end the cheating tourist numbers grow, and I would also guess it is those same cheaters who get their taxi drivers to deliver their packs and book all the best accommodation in advance, and who are the one's too lazy to pick up carry their rubbish.
Humans are such strange animals, but it will make the final part of the journey to Finistere that much more enjoyable as you leave those cheaters behind in their Santiago hotels boasting of how they have "endured" the hardships of the Camino.
I have replied to your email about the camera situation, but in the end I think you may need to seek "professional" advice if they are all loaded onto the camera's memory rather than the storage card. If all else fails perhaps see if someone can download them onto a memory stick or CD.
Even though I have been part of planning and an armchair traveller with you I remain in awe of your achievements.
Don't let the bastards get you you down!

How far is the 'end of the earth' from Santiago?
Santiago to Finisterre is just a quick 90km and 3 days
Easy peezey!
