I got up at 6am for sunrise. I was the only person on the beach and it was dark still. It was quiet except for the sound of the waves. The sun was behind a set of mountains so the sky was bright but the sun had not come up.  About 30 minutes later, the sun peaked from behind the mountain and it was bright orange. There weren't lines in the sky, just a big orange sun. It was kind of amazing to be the only person on the whole beach to witness this.

Then I was off to breakfast and the lobby to wait for scuba diving pick up. After a while of waiting, I realized they may not be coming.  The receptionist confirmed that they had cancelled the previous day at 4 pm but no one had called to tell me. I was so upset. It was my only chance to dive in the most beautiful part of the world. After a few tears, I had to remember that I was still on the most amazing vacation of my life. I pulled it together and went to the pool. Michelle was in bed sick all day so I got plenty of alone time at the pool. It was much sunnier than the previous day and the pool was crowded. The winds weren't as strong either so it turned out to be beautiful. In felt terrible for Michelle but she made it out around 4pm to lay poolside for a nap.

I headed to the spa for my Royal Thai massage at 6:30. The spa was the mot beautiful I've ever seen. Lily pad pools at the entrance as you walked a wooden bridge. I was escorted back to my private glass room. Chen was my therapist. There was a small changing room where I put on the traditional white outfit. Outside the glass room was a huge tub, double shower and bench seat. Totally private covered by bamboo and huge plants. I couldn't believe I got this room to myself. Again feeling terrible Michelle wasn't able to join me. 90 minutes of Royal Thai. It's different than regular Thai. Theres no rubbing or stretching. It's all acupuncture points. Mostly on the legs and the you lie on your left side, the right as she pushed in many points all the way up my back. When she got to my arms, she cut off circulation at my armpit then elbow then wrist. When she holds a spot then let's go, you can feel the blood rush back through your body. My fingers were numb several times. It was a nice experience because of the room and view, but not my favorite massage.

I returned to the room where a small basket of roses awaited me. The hotel reception sent them as an apology that they did not call me when my trip was cancelled. It was a very nice gesture.

Michelle and I went for dinner at the hotel bar where I had the spiciest Tum Yum soup yet. My lips were a bit sunburned so the spice was burning my lips but couldn't stop myself.

We went back to the room where we attempted for the 2nd night in a row to watch the movie Letters to Juliet. I fell asleep immediately as usual.
