Having researched which channel the SOO would be on we headed to Teagues Bar in the city. Found it and free parking at the Gloucester Rugby Club car park. Walked across the road to discover the pub was shut. So like annoying people do, we rang the door bell and the landlord appeared to inform us he didn't open until 6pm. This is no good, the SOO starts at 11am UK time. Landlord advises the Abbey in the city has a sports bar, off we go. A few other places are suggested, I get asked to move on by a parking inspector, this is not going well. By now it is 11:30 and the game has probably been going 20 - 30 minutes. Solution, go to McDonalds, they gave free wifi. We arrive, connect to wifi and read a play by play description on foxsports website. Not quite the same and Michael is very frustrated. We try live streaming but everything is blocked. Anyway the Blues won so in the end a happy result. We also had a burger from Maccas which was surprisingly nice.
No photos taken as the iPads were constantly in use monitoring the a rugby league.
We then discuss where to and I suggest the Slaughters, seemed appropriated as the Qld team had just been slaughtered (slight exaggeration)

She said: What a stressful day this was for Carol and myself!! Where do I start, what Michael and my darling husband did trying to find a place that televised State of Origin was amazing, I think they should get the supporters of the year award, and we should get wives of the year!
