well we are almost home. we were hoping to get to sault ste. marie tonight, but decided to wrap up the driving early, hit the hay and take off first thing tomorrow morning. We will make it home friday for sure. what a trip. today was cool, drove through Wakefield, Michigan (not much to see) and the next spot we hit was Ottawa National Forest. a good sign that we were heading in the right direction.

although we have done more driving over these past few days and through the end of our trip, we've seen a lot of great scenery and many little towns and different people along the way. there is the sad points of the journey, where you not only towns drying up with no industry, but lakes and rivers that are nearly non-existent if at all. again, how quickly the landscapes change.

we'll be happy to never hear another country song about turnip trucks, pork rinds and lost love....
