From Truth or Consequences we stopped at a small town called Benson before heading to Tombstone, famous for the gunfight between Wyatt Earp et al. The town is now a tourist mecca but fun nonetheless with its well preserved Western vibe, horse drawn wagons, artifacts and a daily staged gun fight between the Earps and other Bandits.

Onwards to Phoenix we saw repeated signs advertising ´´The Thing´ that had us suitably intrigued and excited until we finally arrived at the Thing to discover there was no ´´Thing´´ at all. Strange but true. Arriving at Phoenix we discovered a drive through cinema which was awesome - feet up, windows down, popcorn abounds and back to back showings.

The next day we managed to meet up with Carol and Kipa who also happened to be passing through on their holiday. We had our first proper drinking session that involved riding a fake (yet very aggressive)  bull and getting up the next day to a vicious hang over.

Roll on to San Diego where we got our fill of Sea World, San Diego zoo and wild life park. Aside from those San Diego was actually a really nice city with a relaxed vibe, we pleased our bellies with amazing fish tacos and exquisite muffins and may have even perused the apartment listings ($209000 for 3 beds is pretty sweet!... watch
this space). We also managed to catch a baseball game but had to leave due to Tim eating something dodgy.

We pulled ourselves away from SD ad back to LA for the last few days of our trip. Ducked into six flags theme park to sample the amazing range of rollercoasters including ´´X´´ on which you have to lie down flat on your back and it hurtles you backwards and head first! Sweetly terrifying and the first time I have heard Tim scream like a girl!

We spent most of our time sorting out bits for Ecuador including desperately trying to track down outrageously priced malaria tablets (damn you, American healthcare!) and finally we were on our way to Ecuador! Adios!
