Where I stayed
107 Km 2500 m climb 1000 m altitude gain
Well the 8 days are over and I survived. Today was interesting. 20 km rolling hills, 1100 m climb in 13 km 800 m decent and then again almost 100 m climb over 40km. look at the section on Google earth. The first climb was very steep with serpentine roads at the end. we then travailed along a ridge before descending to lunch. as the decent was as steep as the climb we were traveling at up to 60k/h. It is a strange sensation to shot down a hill at over 50k/h, and the next moment in your granny gears at under 10k/h to climb the next hill. There is alot to see so that the time flys.
We arrived in the town and after a zig zag course through the town following our directions and the flags, we arrived at the road leading up to the hotel with totally rubber knees and what did we see, a switch back road going straight up, but not getting of the bike and pushing, granny gear on and up you go at 5k/h. Pushing would be quicker.
The first thing after putting up the tent in a shady grove with grass, was a shower. TDA booked 3 rooms for us as shower and toilet. I stood under the shower for 5 min and waited till the water was clear again, then I washed myself, and again and then my hair again. After about half an hour the cater was eventually clear. you realize after such a tour what a luxury that a shower is. we had supper here in the hotel and after 3 beers I went to bed.
