Darting out by taxi at first, we then converted to foot as we became accustomed to the relatively compact size of HCMC. In fact most attractions that we visited - Jade Emperor Pagoda, Notre Dame Cathedral and even the infamous War Remnants Museum were all somewhat 'compact', nothing at all of the scope of other Asian cities I've visited. The GPO is grand sight though.

The food, however, is terrific! Sadly, the restaurant was out of stir fried garlic frog, so I settled for the dove in lime and chilli sauce, tasty! But I wouldn't recommend the grilled eel unless you're a regular fan of the sea snake.

While this didn't make me squirmish, some of the sights, photos, distorted foetuses at the war remnants museum did. What was done to these people; pure evil. Their retaliation; totally justified.

Heading out for an evening beverage, I was at first refused entry to a 'family style' bar/restaurant (like a TGI Fridays), I couldn't establish the reason as it was only 11pm and the front sign saying open until 2am, so I went in anyway. Behind me Matt said the doorman gave a bewildered look at my abstinence, shrugged his shoulders, and opened the door for matt to enter.

Just as well too, as it wasn't long before we were being accosted by a couple of exceedingly attractive local ladies, together with a few of the waitresses, who were very impressed by Matt (or was it just his eyebrow piercing??). It turned out that after not wanting us to enter, they weren't letting us leave... but alas, there were more venues to be refused entry at....

Photos soon....
