Breaking the tiresome journey across to Labuanbajo on the Flores west coast, we stopped in the bustling little town of Bajawa. Stretching our legs, we wandered the streets where (apart from the Pom finding a KFC!) the markets were the most entertaining location on very quiet Saturday night.

Embarking our bus at 7 the following morning, we spent the next 1.5 hours collecting other passengers and their various produce before headed off into the hills on our narrow winding road - which claimed a truck as victim along our way.

Relieved to finally arrived in the port town of Labuanbajo, both John & I were also slightly shocked to see a half dozen other tourists in our hotel, the most we'd seen since Australia! Deciding we both deserved a treat after our 11 hour journey, we headed for the best restaurant in town (twice the price of anywhere else) where I shelled out A$4 for a delicious whole steamed snapper!

Nothing much here, but the day trip to Rinca island to see the Komodo Dragons was interesting with glimpse of Dolphins and amazing Flying Fish during the 1.5 boat ride. The island itself was dry, loads of monkeys, water buffalo, and of course the infamous dragons. The highlight though was some amazing snorkeling on the way back to Labaunbajo before another fish for dinner.
