This morning we drove out to Mt Field NP to see Russell Falls. As you can see from the photos, there wasn't much water in the falls so they weren't too spectacular. We then walked about 10 mins up the track to see the Horseshoe falls.
On the way back to the car we picked up a leaflet in the visitor centre for Something Wild Wildlife Sanctuary which was about 5 minutes back along the road. So we decided to stop there,as they had wild platypus' and i really wanted to see one. The Sanctuary was really good. They run a Tasmanian Devil Breeding programme, so there were three baby devils and three adults. They were all adorable.
We also managed to spot one of the wild Platypus. There is a section of river in the back of the park with a pool, which they live in, and is their natural habitat. Unfortunately the viewing platform is set back and high up so you can't see them very close-up.
There were also Possums, Roos, Quolls, wombats, Koalas and birds. So although the sanctuary was quite small, we spend a good couple of hours looking at the animals.
