Sunday we made a proper day of it! We headed off to the game in the early afternoon, which started at 2.40pm. As suspected, I wasn't really sure what was going on most of the time, but after sitting on the fence about which team to support, I decided on Fremantle about halfway through, as they ended up scoring twice as many points as Hawthorn. The atmosphere at the game was really good, and I'll definitley try and go to a game again, probably when I get back to Melbourne.

After the game we went to the pub for a few hours, and had dinner at a restaurant in Subiaco. The chef there is a lovely french guy called Manu that used to stay at the hostel, which handily meant we got a discount on the meal, which was really great. We shared a few starters, a few bottles of wine and had a main course, which turned out to only be about $60 dollars each (about 25 pounds). It's obviously still expensive for the backpacker budget, but it was my first meal out for absolutley ages which wasn't burger based!! After that we headed back to the hostel and sat outside chatting until the wee hours of the morning. I regretted it when I had to be up for work at 7am, but it was the best day I've had in a while! I was also really glad that I took my camera along as lots of the day and lots of people were captured on film!!

This week I'm doing the reception job in Subiaco. It's very quiet so mostly I've been catching up on reading and brushing up on my solitare skills. It's also really easy to get here from the hostel - So I get to sleep in until 7.30-7.45, and I don't have to catch the train until 8.30am.

The latest news is that my Canadian friend Rob is leaving to do a tour to Ayers Rock next Friday, and am thinking about going with him. I think it would be really nice to have someone to do a tour and see the rock with, although it means missing a week of work. We were also talking about the possibility of heading down to Adelaide afterwards and perhaps meeting up with Dan, on his way over from Sydney. I'm not sure whether the dates will work out or not but it's worth a try. It would be great if the three of us could have a few nights out together again.

Well I think that's all the news I have for now! Time is flying by really quickly here especially now that I'm working! I can't believe I have already been here for nearly 6 weeks! It's going to be really strange to leave in a few weeks time.
