Today was a drive till you drop day.
The route was north on Highway I75, up to Port Huron Michigan, then cross into Canada onto the 401 to London where my dad lives.
All went well until I came near Detroit, the home of US auto making. Maybe they profess to know how to make cars, but the roads in and around that city were atrocious. It was a continual battle to avoid deep, and I mean deep, potholes, detours, unclear signage, etc . . It is not my favourite place to travel. Once I got past Detroit it was a straight run north to Port Huron, then over the bridge to Canadian customs where it was a short five minute line-up and welcomed back to home. No problems whatsoever.
Within a half an hour I was at my Dad's place in time for dinner being served at the residence he lives at. It's always great to see my ninety three year old dad still up and about and doing very well.
It was early to bed on the cot we borrow for the night.
Distance Travelled: 750 Km
