The sun was out; it warmed up as the day went on.
I spent the day at the Kennedy Space Center, and enjoyed every minute of it. I took the NASA Up Close tour so was able to get close to launch pads, and saw the pad where they are preparing for a shuttle blastoff on Feb 12th. Everything was so well described by the staff, the bus routes were excellent and the IMAX movie in 3D was most interesting.
The day ended in Daytona Beach at a Super 8 that says it has wireless internet, but no matter what I do by talking with the help desk, ask the front desk to reset, etc. nothing will allow me to make connection. I am now in the breakfast area and for some reason it is working here.
I had dinner next door at the Ocean Deck Restaurant and had a great meal of grouper with a Guinness.
The hotel is directly on the beach, so the location is excellent, but it is not above 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Hi John, you are in Daytona which is not far from where I am right now. I arrived at the villages on Sunday and just now got my email working. We have a house in the villages on a street called Kensington Place. The weather has not been great but sounds like you are having a good ride in spite of the weather. Enjoy the rest of your trip.

Enjoying your travels once again. Our family was in Daytona Beach last July and had dinner at the same restaurant, great food, perfect atmosphere, we tried gator bites -tastes like chicken!
Many years ago we stayed at Cocoa Beach and went to the beach at night with many others to watch a launch. After an hour we finally realized that it was postponed to another night - which we weren't there for.
Stay south as long as you can, it's still warmer there that in Ottawa.

Hi John - most interesting pix of NASA - we were there 2 winters ago while in FL - was very difficult to pull Jack away to go back to Orlando...he could not get enough of NASA...enjoy your ride back to Ottawa
