Well well

10 months after I touched back down in Vancouver, and I've finally gotten around to uploading all my pictures and editing all of my blogs.

I remember it being a long, long journey to get home from Cairo, but I was excited to be coming home so I managed. It was wonderful to see my loved ones at the airport even though they were shocked by my Jesus-like appearance. I was amused by it all. They had no idea how haggard I was looking since I never updated photos during my travels so it was a fun surprise for everyone.

Now I'm home and have settled back into normal life back in Vancouver. I had a wonderful trip and the memories I will keep from this trip will last me a lifetime. I'm so happy to have done it and seen so much of the world and the way of life of so many thousands of others. It makes me feel so blessed to have all the comforts and luxuries we have here in Canada. I also feel blessed to have been a part of and witnessed the life and struggles of so many others around the world.

East Africa especially had a very profound effect on me, the drastic differences between my upbringing and the way most children are raised there. And they are some of the happiest kids around! It is truly an awesome place, and I loved Uganda especially. (This may or may not have to do with Jinja *winkwink*)

Turkey was one of my favorite countries as well. Such a vibrant and beautiful land. What an amazing country. Ripping around the rest of the Middle East with Alex was also quite a treat. In 10 short days we saw Petra, floated in the Dead Sea, slept in the Wadi Rum desert with Bedouins, ATV'ed and snorkeled in Dahab, climbed Mt. Sinai, and saw the Pyramids. Awesome memories.

The entire 10 months was difficult and extremely challenging at some points, but the reward was worth it. In the end I'm so happy and proud of myself for doing it: making it all the way around the world. It is not something that lots of people have the chance to do and I am so thankful for all the love and support from my family and from everyone I met along the way. God Bless.

Over and out,

-js
