I got a nice happy birthday song from the other jeep we were traveling with as we raced across the red sand after we left our camp. We then had a quick bus transfer from Wadi Rum to Aqaba where we would be spending the day. Not much was going on here to be honest. It was hot! I did some relaxing, napping, organization. Then some more napping. Alex bought me a really nice seafood meal for dinner which was excellent. Cheers buddy!

Hit up the money exchange and bartered with locals for some desert tea then it was off to the ferry terminal for the rather chaotic ferry trip to Egypt. Alex destroyed his toe, but he is a warrior so he only complained a tiny bit. It is a 3 hour ferry ride that takes a total of about 10 hours. Perhaps it is just poor organization but are 5 hour loading times really necessary? Come on dude! It was funny though and didn't go badly. We managed to get set up with some nice and cozy (read: tiny) air-con cabins so I actually did manage to get some sleep. It was mostly a waiting game but life was good so I was patient and eventually we arrived in Nuweiba. Customs was slow but easy and soon we we were on our way to Dahab.

Welcome to Egypt!
