The bus ride to Olympos was amazing. It was another 5 hours but driving along the coastline of the Mediterranean was truly stunning and made the time go by quite quickly. The green shrubbery was a sharp contrast from the brown scrub and the grey of the rocks. We drove along these hills with the fantastic blue and turquoise color of the Mediterranean on the right. Soon enough we were in Olympos. This is definitely one of the most relaxed, chilled-out places I have ever been. It is basically a dirt road where hotels do not exist, here tree houses are all the rage. It is just this single road that leads down to a few ruins and a nice little beach. Hippies everywhere, lounging, relaxing.

We were staying in a tree house as well, it was a nice place with hammocks and lots of lounge areas under the many lemon trees around the property. Spent most of the day lounging around but I did take a walk down to the beach and had a quick swim in the Mediterranean. After dinner I decided to go up into the mountains and check out the chimaera. This is a naturally occurring phenomenon where eternal flames sprout right out of the mountainside. It was a nice climb to get up there and the stars and flames were both really nice. It took quite some time to get down and when we arrived back in Olympos everyone from my dorm room decided to stay up until 3am ın the lounge areas. We had a really good apple shisha that fizzled out after about 2 and a half hours, and then closed the bar down. Really nice night!

The next day was the day of the dreaded overnight bus, but the day was still ahead. I walked down to the beach and took an extended look at some of the ruins on the way. The water was great and me and Nathan spent a good portion of the day out in the water. We found a really great rock to climb and did a number of jumps off the top. This convinced some more people to come out and jump too so we spent a good few hours out by the rock seeing how high each of us could jump from.

Spent the afternoon relaxing in the hammocks and psyching myself up for the 12 hour journey. God I hate overnight buses!

Will report in when I get to Cappadocia.
