We had a 5 hour bus transfer to Fethiye from Pamukkale. This involved a local minibus where we had assigned seats but we soon realized it was quite a corrupt enterprise the driver and attendant were running. They picked up everyone and anything that could earn them a few dollars on the side so we soon found the aisles crammed with random items being transported and even more people just standing around paying a fraction of the cost we did and basically being in my personal space. People sitting on my feet. Awesome. No worries I am becoming used to situations like this.

Fethiye is a lovely coastal town. I realize how much I have missed the ocean being away from it since the early Thailand days. I had a walk around town and made it my mission to find the famous Turkish stretchy magic ice cream. I finally found a vendor selling it and I asked him to demonstrate how much it could stretch. He was not interested in being my monkey and performing tricks, although he did proceed to whack my new buddy Nathan wıth an ice cream cone numerous times. I was amused by this so I bought some ice cream anyways. It really is quite weird and chewy, but nevertheless delicious. Ice cream mission status: Complete.

I then got some street donair and hiked up to the rock tombs. These are basically cut into a sheer rock face and were quite neat to check out. For dinner we went to a local fish market and each chose a fish. We then had it cooked for us to order. Pretty nice and a fun way to do the local dinner thing for this town.

My time here in Turkey is just going by in a flash. On the road again tomorrow to hippie central.
