So we left Bharatpur in the morning heading east to Agra. This was going to be one of the big highlights of the trip because Agra is home to the Taj Mahal, arguably the most magnificent structure in the entire world.

The bus to Agra was only an hour and a half and considering the debacle the day before, was not a problem at all. Agra isn't a very nice place, it is just home to some very nice buildings. We settled into our hotel and grabbed some lunch before chilling out for a bit. For dinner, we had dinner at a rooftop café overlooking the Taj Mahal from far away and it was really cool to see from far away, but the real sightseeing would be in the morning. It was a nice sunset and I enjoyed sipping chai on the rooftop while watching the kite-fighting going on all over the city, with the Taj Mahal providing the backdrop. Pretty awesome.

Early night since the real treat was the sunrise and the visit to the Taj. I was up at 4:45am and got myself ready and was out the door for 5:15. Waited in line till the gates opened and then I was in. I can say that words and pictures won't ever do the Taj Mahal justice. It is magnificent. I spent hours walking around taking hundreds of pictures. It was awesome just taking it all in. An amazing morning for sure. I returned back to the hotel about 9am and had some breakfast, then just killed time until the late afternoon. I decided to go to the Agra Fort as well. It wasn't nearly as cool as the Taj, but it was still worth the visit. It is made mostly out of red sandstone and some white marble, and it had a nice view across the city of the Taj.

I'm going for dinner shortly, then boarding a train tonight headed for Varanasi. Should be good!
