Where I stayed
Anyways, eventually we did indeed make it to Bharatpur in one piece, and somehow the bus did as well. Bharatpur is a very small place and there is not much to do there. We settled into our hotel, which was a nice place, and had a good lunch. The only tourist attraction in Bharatpur is a wildlife park that is full of birds. Unfortunately we knew before we got there that there would not be many birds because of the drought and the heat. There were still other animals in the park as well, so I decided to take a cycle rickshaw around the park at dusk anyways, since it was the only thing to do and it sounded peaceful. It was OK, and I did end up seeing antelopes, deer, jackals, buffalo, turtles, monkeys, and quite a number of birds, but the guide said that still it was not many and that in the monsoon season the park is full of various wildlife. It was fine though and I enjoyed the 2 hour experience.
The rest of the night was spent over a nice plate of Khadai Paneer and chapati, and then movies on cable TV.
Catching another local bus early in the morning for Agra.
