For the whole time I had been back I had been telling C that we we're flying to Bangkok on he same day but that I hadn't been able to get the same flight as her when I booked last minute from Laos.

But it was just a fun trick so I surprised her at the airport by checking in to the same flight as her. We got seats together after working some magic on the check-in agents and we we're off to Bangkok shortly thereafter.

13.5 hour flights are never fun, and this one was no exception but we made it eventually and caught our connection to Bangkok in Hong Kong, and got into BKK at about 11pm local time after 20 hours of commuting. We settled into our hotel and explored KhaoSan at night before getting some much needed sleep.

It was just like I remembered it. Very hot and dirty, but charming in its own way.

The next day C and I made our way to the Grand Palace via public bus which was a fun experience. They don't really stop for you, you kind of have to get on while it is moving. The Grand Palace was absolutely incredible, we spent 2 hours wandering around and could of spent 2 more, save for the stifling heat. After that experience we retired back to the aircon of our room and ended up going to sleep in the afternoon until the next morning.

The next day we got up early so we could go check out the famous floating markets at Damnoen Saduak. It took an hour and a half to get there by cramped bus, but it was worth it, the markets we're pretty incredible. We hired a paddle boat and got right in on the action pushing our way through the traffic and even picking up a few small souvenirs from stores as we floated past.

After that we got to take a speed boat around the outer canals of the market and then we caught the bus back to Bangkok. We had more time to explore the streets and markets this day so we took advantage of that, picking up a few knick knacks. Also tried some delicious street food. I would highly recommend the mango with sticky rice. Sounds a bit strange but it was excellent, and you can't really go wrong for 70 cents.

Today we are just killing time on the internet waiting for our bus tonight to Krabi. Should be a fun 13 hour bus ride. We will see!

Out of time now.
