In the morning we left Dunedin, destination: Lake Tekapo.
On our way out of Dunedin we stopped at Baldwin Street.
Baldwin Street also happens to be the steepest street in the world, so naturally, I had to climb it.
It didn't look too steep from the bottom, but about 1/4th of the way up you change your perspective entirely. Needless to say it took me awhile to recover on the bus but I did make it to the top and I did run to the bottom (scary!)
After that we set off for Lake Tekapo.
This place is amazing. The lake is a gorgeous turqouise and the town has only one street but it added to the charm. I spent a number of hours walking by the lake enjoying where I was.
Everyone from the tour bus got together that night for a big BBQ and party at our lakefront hostel and a good time was had by everyone. Ended up going to bed at about 2am.
Of course, the way to describe Lake Tekapo was "tranquil" as it became the goofy joke of the night, but it really was nice there!
Christchurch tomorrow!
