Stayed two days just outside St Louis in Granite City Illinois; finally a day's break from driving. Toured around St. Louis for a day including driving upstream from the city to where the Mississippi and the Missouri rivers join. We can see why they call this river the Big Muddy. We walked across the Mississippi River on the mile long Old Chain of Rocks Bridge which use to be part of Route 66. From here we went to the Gateway Arch and the St Louis riverfront and took the ride up the Arch for a view of the city. Not much room up there for the hundreds of people they put through.
After a hard day in the sun, stopped at a local landmark, Ted Drewes, for a "concrete," the original ice cream blizzard treat.
The maze of interstates and highways is always amazing down here. Thankfully the trailer only gets to see the outskirts of the big cities.

Hey I heard it's nice in Edmonton..... Kentucky that is!
We only dipped into Kentucky for a couple of hours before crossing back into Tennessee so didn't see Edmonton. We did get awful close to Murray (Kentucky) though. I can't remember if that might have been the community designated as a certified retirement community. :-)
They didn't offer. I didn't ask. :-)
The smell from the processing plant was enough to do me for the day.
