Friday March 7th,
Arrive in Amsterdam....confusing airport but kinda cool. People from all over the world are, well all over the airport. I hear about 16 different languages on my way to my connecting flight terminal. Wait around 3 hours until I can finally board my connecting flight to Rome. Informed that the airport in Rome has one less runway which will push us back half an hour. Wish they would have told us BEFORE we got on the plane.
FINALLY we take off......you know how annoying those safety instructions are when you get on a plane? Well for trips in and out of Amsterdam, they do those things in four....yes, 1,2,3,4! languages.
We get a pasta meal for "lunch" on this flight (Amsterdam to Rome) but my utensils are made for ....well I don't know what for, but certainly not for me. You could use the spoon as a canoe paddle for a G.I. Joe, I suppose. Well....here, take a look for yourself.
I have never been on a flight where someone got sick, but holy crap did this guy a couple rows away from me lose EVERYTHING he had eaten when the pilot came over the intercom and said to prepare for landing. I don't know if he was nervous or had some bad eggs, but the cabin was quiet and all you could hear was this dude filling up three barf-bags. I suppose the ear is somehow connected with the stomach (inner-ear, maybe) cause the sound started getting other people queezy, including myself, but it was quite amusing to see people looking around and taking deep breathes to try and not throw up :-)
ANYWAYS,
got to Rome, found Sean waiting on me in baggage claim....then we just waited on a shuttle to take us to our place and did an orientation......thats about it....for now
UPDATE: ok well , after orientation, most everybody went to sleep....I stayed up and played on this blog. Around 10ish, Sean woke up and we went and got a pizza.....awesome....then watched a couple movies on the computer and crashed out again.....I really needed some sleep.
