Spent the past 4 weeks chillin' in sucre. I have been taking more spanish lessons and enjoying being in one place. Sucre has left a bit of a bad taste in my mouth lately(Got sick on the food and had my backpack stolen with 6 months of spanish work in it), so I am ready to leave tomorrow, but I find that the roads are blocked because the bus companies haven't paid their taxes and one of the airlines is on strike...so I may not get out of here as soon as I would like.....this is life in South America!!!

Sucre is called the ciudad blanca (white city) because most of the buildiings are the colonial style of architecture with white walls...the people of this city have a lot of pride...they sweep their sidewalks every morning and are required to white wash their exterior walls...every so often....

My class and I got a chance to swim at a place called 7 cascadas (7 waterfalls)and go to a futbal (soccer) game and visit the indigenous town of Tarabuco, where I got to see the president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, and see the carnaval of campesinos. This is the place where i bought more weavings and a friend for Ragnar!
