This was amazing!! we took a bus from Salta (amazing landscape scenery!)to the Argentine town of La Quiaca..stayed the night and in the morning crossed over to Villazon, Bolivia.
We arrived via taxi to the bustling bridge where we would cross the border and we were amazed at the site of hundreds of Bolivians (we think) shuffling their feet at a small run as they carried 50 to 100 pounds of 'goods' (flour, vegetables, beer) across the border...on their backs..only to drop off the load and scurry back to the Argentine side to pick up more...they were working hard and sweating..men, women, young and old with the most passive looks on their faces. We think it must happen this way every day all day!!!
