We were scheduled to leave Wellington at noon so we had the morning to do what we wanted in Wellington. A few of us just went out for breakfast and then sat at the museum using free wi-fi. It was a long drive up the coast to New Plymouth in the Taranaki region, so not much of interest today. Unfortunately our return to the North Island has also meant a return of rainy weather and therefore we weren't able to see Mount Taranaki. We all grabbed Chinese take out for dinner and then hung out in the bus watching the heavy rains. Luckily our tent held up to the weather.
