Hoi An is the tailoring capital of the world. All over South East Asia, you hear of the treasures that can be found in this small little city. There are probably over 200 tailors there. The hardest thing to do is find one that you like and how much you want to spend on clothes. The tailors are so amazing that they can make anything. Most people come to Hoi An in the effort of finally getting that tailor made suit. I came to Hoi An in an attempt to get a pair of leather pants (trousers for you British people!!!).
The boys and I didn't do too much research into which tailor we should use. We just took the recommendation of our hotel and walked down the street. We were greeted by the family and thrown loads of magazines to inspire us. Yes, it is a beautiful thing. As we were searching through the magazines in an effort to find the perfect clothing, they ordered us some cau lac, or a local speciality of pork, vegetable and noodles. So now, we had lunch and magazines to look through. I felt like pretty woman. Once you figured a picture or could describe what you wanted, the measuring started. They measure you ever single way to make sure that it will fit perfectly. In your armpits, down your cleavage, everything must be measured!!! From there, you go on to picking out your material. It wasn't that hard to pick out leather. I mean they only had black. From there, you finish your order up and pay. Within 24 hours, you can go back for a fitting and to pick up your clothes. I walked into the store, tried on my pants, had them fix it and walked out with a new pair of hipster boot-cut leather pants!!! Now I just have to find some shoes to wear them with!!!
