The other day, I typed a really good and long entry and of course as I was trying to send it along, the internet stopped working and I lost all of my work, so it is taken this long to be able to sit down and try again....

Warkworth is so beautiful. My host family lives right outside town and they live right on the beach, so every time I look outside I am looking at a bay with sailboats and smaller islands in the distance. I have my own room and bathroom which is really nice, and I am getting used to the Kiwi lifestyle. I have been really active since getting here; we go on walks that involve climbing some along the beach and have gone swimming. Yesterday, I played touch rugby and I believe that I have found a new sport.

The school is really different from the US. All the classroom doors lead directly outside, and all the students are in uniform. They seem interested that there is an American around them, seeing as some have never met one. The educational system is different which will take some time to get used to, but I find that I am already picking the terms. There is a lot of time during the school day that is down time. There is a 20 minute tea break and then lunch is an hour long during which time you could walk into town if you wanted to. I am looking forward to getting more involved in school and will be teaching my first lesson next week. Well, I am off to enjoy the five day Easter break...
