When we arrived at the site today, the gravel we left yesterday was there waiting.  Our 2 Masons (Albiņil) started mixing cement to fill in the U-blocks, so I hung around to help.  I just needed a change of task.  It's not any easier, just different.  That's how we feel about all the jobs -- they're all difficult but you can change the muscles used for a little while.

We are all pretty sore today and we are moving a bit slower today.  We noticed that the bridge is showing signs of fatigue too.  I don't think it's safe at all and it freaks me out to have to cross it.... yes, I'm a bit of a suck about the bridge but wait til you see the pictures -- you'll understand.

At 2:20pm today, we had another delivery of blocks just after we had finished moving the remaining gravel.  Remember, we leave the site at 3pm to catch our boat so to receive a delivery that late in the day is not that welcomed!!  The driver couldn't turn off the engine or the truck wouldn't start again, so we inhaled the fumes.  It took us a total of 10 minutes to unload -- we moved faster than we did all day!!  Unfortunately, we didn't have time to move it to the site so the blocks stayed on the road for the night.  We did get about 8 bags of cement moved to the shed though.  Jeez, those suckers are heavy.  They say each bag is about 50 pounds but it feels like so much more!

Our masons are really cool guys.  Carlos is about 25 and Mynor is 22 and they've been partners for many years, since Mynor was 14.   Carlos who has 3 children, is the quiet, shy one and Mynor has 1 daughter and is divorced.  He's the very chatty one and always cracking jokes. They are good to work with and are happy with us carrying all the materials in, while they just keep laying blocks and building the walls.  They are definitely better at it than we are, so we'll leave it alone.  This house has to stand for many, many years!

Today we see a structure, which is amazing.  It's real progress!!!!   Yaaaayyyy for us!  And Sandra is really happy to see her house starting to take form!
