And what's funny is the school kids in Costa Rica are finished today too for their "summer break" until February! They also get 3 weeks off in July! Lucky kids!
This morning, a stray dog decided that I should be the one that he follows today and he came with me all the way to school from home. At first he scared me because you should be very cautious around these strays (but I have had my shots!). He would walk a bit ahead of me and then stop and look back to make sure I was still with him. He tried picking a few fights with some other dogs who were thankfully on leashes or behind their "bars". But he would look up at me like I was supposed to protect him... yeah right.. your fight, buddy. He was pretty hungry - wish I had something for him. But he seemed happy enough to walk me to school, like I was his "dueña" or owner. Not sure why I'm sharing this story... I guess I just thought it was nice in an odd sort of way, to start my Friday.
Well, school is done and I'm happy to start the next part of this adventure, which is pretty wide open but definitely involves the beach and sun and fun!! I received a diploma today from the school for 80 hours of Spanish class. It sure doesn´t feel like it but I feel comfortable communicating restaurants, bars and hotels. That´s about what I need right now!!
